Thank you for your comments 'Ally'.

Proximity is as much about the enjoyment of the travelling as well as the distance. This is of course a lunch break we're talking about and so isn't just about getting 'the lunch task done'.

The walk to Magic Roll along and over the historic floating harbour is a joy in comparison to the intersection that is the walk to the fountains.

You're right on one count - My Burritto did bribe me some salsa to say that their establishment was better positioned. If only the Lunchometer team could let me undo my wrong there....

This has a definite bias - Sainsbury's is much closer than Magic Roll... whether you like it or not. It is also literally just this side of My Burrito but scores two less in proximity. Y u no score things right?

You should get a job with the X Factor with that sort of fixing!

I think that's what's missing from a lot of these people is an idea of economics and how capitalism works.

They seem to have assumed that it's a zero-sum game - they win and the shopkeeper or police lose, where actually their gains from looting are minimal compared to the losses that the country has to carry.

I had a similar experience in the 2000 Mind Sports Olympiad.

I was 16, reigning UK Youth champion at Go (Baduk/Weiqi), and I got beaten viciously by a 6 year old from China in the Youth section.

There's nothing like that to teach you about losing graciously!

I've heard about the 90-minute cycle thing before, mainly in relation to sleep patterns - after 45 minutes of continuous sleep, you're in your deepest slumber; after 90 minutes, you're almost awake and so it's best if you try to sleep for say 6 or 7.5 hours, as opposed to 7 or 8 hours. Works for me anyway, could be a placebo for all I know!

I had a similar reaction when my dad told me that the term "patch" originates from when paper tape was sent to users to literally patch a program on paper tape/ punched cards. I'd like to think that the term "debugging" refers to clearing a paper tape program of squashed bugs, but apparently that originates from aircraft engines :)
